The Department of Psychology is an authorized distributor of the SAS system for statistical computing. 

Currently, two licenses are available for SAS version 9.3 for students and faculty of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln:

  • A two-machine personal license (available to everyone): $25
  • An eight-machine lab license (available to faculty and staff): $50

Both licenses include an installation DVD. 

SAS is available for Microsoft Windows operating systems (except for Windows XP Home Edition, Windows Vista Home Edition, and Windows 7 Home Basic Edition). You must specify if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit. You  can determine which version your system runs by right clicking on the "My Computer" icon, and selecting "Properties." Windows 7 will display this information by the "System type:" header for both 32- and 64-bit systems.  Windows XP will only list this information if the machine is a 64-bit system (so if you do not see 64-bit, you will need a 32-bit installation disk).

Mac users, please note that SAS does not offer a Mac version. If you wish to install SAS on a Mac, you will have to install it through a Windows emulator program or virtual machine. You will also have to ascertain the type of Windows operating system you run through the emulator (either 32-bit or 64-bit).
