Tiffany is currently a sixth year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is currently completing her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Center where she is receiving specific training in conducting TF-CBT and PCIT, as well as participating in research examining the impact of child maltreatment on victim functioning following abuse.

Her primary research and clinical interests are in child maltreatment. Tiffany is mainly interested in the development and dissemination of effective treatments for victims of maltreatment. For her master’s thesis, she examined treatment outcomes of a brief family intervention for sexually abused youth and their non-offending family members, based off the well-established Project SAFE group treatment program. Tiffany is currently analyzing results for her dissertation project which examined the association between varying symptom presentations of adolescent sexual abuse victims and bioecological factors including personal characteristics and contextual variables, taken in the context of time.

Tiffany has a secondary interest in parent/child and teacher/child relationships and their influence on child behaviors at home and in the classroom. She is currently collaborating with others to develop Teacher-Child Interaction Training – Preschool Program (TCIT-Pre). TCIT-Pre is an adaptation of the empirically supported Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and is designed to build teacher/child relationships as well as reduce behavioral and emotional problems in classroom settings. She is also working with others on the development and norming of the Behavioral Observations for Preschoolers System – 35 items (BOPS-35), which is a live behavioral observation coding system used to assess prosocial and challenging behaviors in preschool children.

Tiffany received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006. Prior to graduate school, she was a volunteer research assistant for the Child Maltreatment Lab, Family Interaction Skills Clinic, and the Family Violence and Injury Lab. While volunteering for these labs, she has worked on multiple projects including examination of internal and external behaviors of sexually abused youth and examination of the severity of exposure to interparental violence as a child and future interpersonal and intrapersonal functioning in newlywed couples. Along with these projects, she also was involved in the pilot study of the TCIT-Pre intervention that was conducted at the local Head Start Developmental Center where she conducted live observations on both teachers and children utilizing the DPICS-III and BOPS.
