Alex is a Fifth year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research examines the mental and physical health consequences of sexual violence, with an emphasis on identifying modifiable targets for intervention. In addition, Alex has a related line of research that investigates risk factors for sexual violence perpetration.

Alex graduated from Florida State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant on a NIH funded grant investigating biological risk factors for binge eating. Her honors thesis examined several mediation models testing associations between sensitivity to punishment, shame, and disordered eating. Alex also worked as a victim advocate with students who had experienced interpersonal violence.
