Alcohol and Sexual Aggression

This project is a three-year study examining mechanisms of alcohol-involved sexual aggression. Data collection will take place in two laboratory-based studies. Alcohol will be administered to male and female participants before they complete various computer-based questionnaires and activities.

Virtual Reality and Social Interactions

This project is a two-year study funded by the National Institute of Health and Human Development (NICHHD) to help better understand college student’s behaviors in response to risky social situations. Data collection takes place in two laboratory-based studies. Participants in the study answer computer based questionnaires and complete an assessment utilizing virtual reality technology.

Project WISE

Project WISE (Women's Interpersonal Relationships, Self, & Experiences) is a five-year study funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to examine experiences of sexual revictimization among young adult women. Data collection takes place at four sites nationally (Lincoln and Omaha, NE, Jackson, MS, and Oxford, OH). There are nine total data collection points over a three-year period. Participants in the study go through a series of tasks including a clinical interview, computer-based questionnaires, and computer tasks involving video clips, a math task, and a situational survey.

The Newlywed Project

The Newlywed Project is a National Institute of Mental Health funded longitudinal examination of how various childhood experiences, such as co-occurring forms of child maltreatment, impact adult functioning, particularly within marriage. Data collection took place during three different time points, beginning at the newlywed stage (i.e., first year of marriage) and subsequently during the second and third years of marriage. Two hundred and four newlywed couples participated in the two-year study, which involved answering computer-based questionnaires and participating in videotaped discussion tasks.
