Alexa Barrett (she/her/hers)

Alexa Barrett is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Training Program at UNL. Broadly, her research interests include the association between substance use and externalizing behaviors and forensic assessment and treatment. After graduating with a B.S. in Psychology from Kent State University in 2018, she collected normative data for the MMPI-3. Alexa then attended Western Carolina University where her research focused on substance use within the young adult, jail detainee, and primary care patient populations, the MMPI-3, and academic dishonesty. She received a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from WCU in 2021. Currently, Alexa is involved in research regarding substance use and sexual assault. She is an extern at Whitehall Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility where she conducts intake assessments and leads group therapy sessions for adolescent males in substance use or sex-offense specific treatment.
