What is the Participant Volunteer Network (PVN)?
It includes people like you who have agreed to place their names on a confidential contact list for possible participation in research projects by students or professors at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).

Who can join?
Anyone 60 and older.

What would this mean for me if I agree to put my name on the list? It means you may be contacted to participate in research studies. Each time you are contacted, you will be told about the study and then you can decide if you would like to participate. There are no obligations and you will not affect your membership or status with UNL if you decide not to participate in any particular study.

What are the studies about? Most studies will have you complete short tasks or answer some questions. They will usually take less than an hour and many studies will pay you for your time.

Where do these studies take place? Most of the studies can be done in a place that is     convenient to you. Researchers can meet you at your home, an office at the UNL campus, a doctor’s office, or anywhere that you feel   comfortable.  Some studies are even conducted online, if you have internet access! The location will be discussed when a researcher calls you.

What else should I know? The information you give us will be kept strictly confidential. The contact list will only be available to psychology researchers who have been approved by the Ethics Committee and the Institutional Review Board (IRB).  You will be informed about the research project, you will not experience any undue stress during the research, you can stop participating at any time, and your privacy will be protected.

Join the Network!

Yes, I would be interested in being contacted about future studies conducted by the Psychology Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Please add my name to the list (click below to provide your information).
