Trans Collaborations is a community-based partnership between transgender and gender diverse people (TGD) and academic researchers. Debra Hope, Richard Mocarski, and Nathan Woodruff, the head of the Nebraska Local Community Board, began Trans Collaborations in 2014 out of a desire to improve health care services for TGD people in the Central Great Plains. Trans Collaborations works to establish a network of researchers and communities focused on creating accountable research and resources for TGD communities in resource-limited areas.

Trans Collaborations has been supported by funding from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the National Institute for Mental Health - National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the Great Plains IDeA-CTR, and the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
