This past summer, Emma Farson, a biological sciences and psychology double major in her 3rd year at UNL, earned Honors credit for a research experience in the UNMC College of Dentistry.
Emma helped investigate the overexpression of an enzyme to generate monoclonal antibodies, and exploring its expression and function in cell adhesion.
"Through this experience, I have been able to learn more about DNA and get into the nitty-gritty of it all!" she said. "As a biology major who wants to go into the field of genetics, I have been able to learn more about the underlying processes behind how cells operate as defined by their genetic code."
